A horrible and shocking thing has happened in this land— the prophets give false prophecies, and the priests [pastors] rule with an iron hand. Worse yet, my people like it that way! But what will you do when the end comes? – Jeremiah 5:30-31 NLT. One of our brethren shared this prophetic revelation about the times we’re living in. This prophetic word couldn’t be more poignant for my country, South Africa. False prophets are on the loose and at large. Pastors are lording it over the people and extracting from them the best they can.
What makes a prophecy false is not inaccuracy, but it’s source of origin. False prophecies maybe pinpoint accurate but come from a familiar or divination spirit. This is the spirit of the devil. Satan knows how much people like prophecy or divination, from time immemorial. This is a huge farce, craze in my country. God is not pleased but His people like it that way! They’ve been led astray by these prophets and their desire to hear these prophecies. Wool is pulled over their eyes and they’re fleeced of their hard earned cash, that their families need and depend on desperately.
Having pointed this out, it paints an even rather very grim picture. People are no longer seeking God but a quick word of prophecy from a demon, and ministers are not seeking to please Him but their own twisted desires and ambitions. Who seeks God for God these days? People’s hearts have been drawn away and led astray. Who can the Lord send, and who will go for Him to tell my generation keep on hearing but do not understand, keep on seeing but do not perceive? Make the heart of this people dull and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with eyes and hear with their ears, and UNDERSTAND with their heart, and return and be healed. Where’s your heart really at today as far as God is concerned?
