Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 37:4.
We all want to “make it” in life. We want to be made, established, accomplished, we want to be somebody. For a child of God there is no getting made apart from God. This is the work of the Holy Spirit in us. Our idea of making it is mostly outward projection, it is all about what we want people to think and perceive about us and our circumstances. The work of the Lord in us is primarily focused on the inside, God is interested in our heart condition. The Lord is the One who does the work of establishing His children and this work is from the inside – out.
Oh people will know that the Lord is with you, but give God time. Give Him your heart, hand over your life that He may do something with it. The interesting thing with some so called children of God is that they don’t trust God. They don’t trust that God understands what they want, yet this is the same God who knows our thoughts before we even think them. The core of the problem is that Christians want the world, they want God ,yes, but when it comes to how they come across and the kinds of things they accumulate and the manner in which these things are obtained, it must be like the world, because Christians are ever looking at what the world is doing and how the world is doing it instead of looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Jesus understands it all, the type of life you want to lead, the career you want to build, the legacy you want to leave, He knows and understands it all. Because we are not created for ourselves but for His pleasure, it pleases Him to give us these things to the glory of His name. It pleases Him to establish us in all our ways and to set us far above our worldly counter parts that it may be known that Jehovah is our God. Just let God do the establishing, don’t try to make yourself. You just seek His Kingdom first and esteem Him far above all else and watch Him set you up, for life!
