For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea – Habakkuk 2:14.
In this day when deceit is at an all-time high and spiritual sensitivity at an all-time low, we need to reignite and rekindle the fire that once burned so bright. The best way to do this is by going back to God’s word. We need to read and meditate on it by the Spirit’s anointing that teaches us all things. The word has to take centre stage in our lives again as Christians and become the only arbiter by which we see, judge and reason everything. The word can never lead us astray, can never let us drift away, and can never let us slip off. The word, and nothing but the word, is a sure foundation for a Christian, a landmark that cannot change or move, always steadfast. We need the word as taught us by the anointing of the Spirit that dwells in us. It’s only this anointing that is able to teach us the word as true, glorious and powerful. We have the word of the knowledge of the glory of the Lord – not the glory of men and the things of men – as now is the case everywhere. The word teaches us about the glory of God and changes us from the inside out into the same glory it talks about from one degree to the next, by the Spirit.
