A Positive Mindset

A Positive Mindset

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives – Genesis 50:20 NIV.

When reading the book of Genesis, from chapter 37 onwards, we are introduced to a man called Joseph who was a younger son of Jacob. Looking at the life of Joseph, he was hated by his brothers and because of the hate they had for him, they decided to sell him to be a slave in a foreign land. But what happens in Egypt is really amazing. Joseph was given charge over everything in Potiphar’s house. As if that was not enough, he was sent to jail but he obtained favor in the sight of the warden, who appointed him head of the prison. And it is in Egypt where God began to use him mightily through his gift the interpretation of dreams and through that, souls were saved. And that was only just the beginning, Joseph just went higher and higher from that point onwards.

It is important that spiritually, we get to know and understand how God works; we must learn to look at our circumstances as being bright and glowing with great possibilities. The way you look at a situation will determine its outcome. There is a famous quote that says, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change.” I find it to be true because in the midst of an attack, you can see or identify a blessing or a possibility for personal growth. Once you adopt that mindset, your attacks will change into your blessings. Even the hardest situation have something good for you or for your spiritual walk, focus on those great possibilities, keep a positive mindset and you will no longer live a life of constant defeat.
