Fire? What Fire?

Fire? What Fire?

Then the high officers, officials, governors, and advisers crowded around them and saw that the fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke! – Daniel 3:27 NLT.

There comes a time in our Christian walk when things will come against us because we are Christians and our Christianity will be put to the test. Don’t sell out, just like Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, we will come out of the fire with no external evidence of having been through the fire. He has promised us in His word that when we walk through the fire, we shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch us (Isaiah 43:2b).

The notable difference will be the work that will have been done on the inside of us, an encounter with the living Jesus, a greater level of faith and a deeper trust in GOD. Many sell out by taking the easy way out or doing what GOD has said not to do, because it wasn’t happening the way they’d hoped or planned, i.e. not prepared to walk through the fire.

Jeremiah 29:11 GNT reads, “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.” It is GOD alone that knows the plans He has for us. He reveals these plans to us though His Holy Spirit but more often than not the process is hidden from us, ours is to trust in His process to get us to the promise. We are to trust Him that this process is not to harm us but to bring us to the place of prosperity no matter how it looks while it’s unfolding. The last verse of Daniel chapter 3 reads, “Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon.” Without having gone through the fire there would have not been a promotion, so the fire is there to bring us promotion; after testing comes blessing.

There comes a time in our Christian walk when things will come against us because we are Christians and our Christianity will be put to the test. Don’t sell out!
