Living In Reverse?

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them – Ephesians 2:10 NKJV.

We are in this one verse of scripture told how the entirety of our Christian lives ought to play out, since we have been purchased by Christ and live no longer unto ourselves but are made alive in Him. We have had change of ownership and our master bought us for the specific purpose of doing the good works He has thus prepared.

So as good and disciplined soldiers (or slaves as it were) of Christ we live to please Him, in whatever we find to do we are sewing towards a life in an eternal kingdom, not made by hands. We are above the affairs of this life, meaning we may seem in certain aspects of life to be living like everyone else, however, when we work a job, for instance, we are not working for a pay, but are dependent by faith on the One who is our sustenance.

When we give we are not carrying out an act of philanthropy but are walking in obedience and honour to the one who commands us to give. If you see yourself as a philanthropist as a Christian you are living in reverse, because philanthropists are charitable according to strength as they are able, but as children of God we may be required to give even what is our very last, which defies logic and requires simple obedience.

When we gather together with the saints for Church it is not the carrying out of religious duty, but a lifestyle, it is who we are, it is what we do to the glory of our God as we live in obedience unto Christ Jesus.

When we fall pregnant we are not passive about it because of science, but in fear acknowledge the One who gives life and count Him holy who has seen it fitting that we give birth to this life, and we thus raise these children as He would have us raise them to the glory of His praise.

The whole world is under the sway of the evil one, perversion is the order of the day and living in reverse the existing status quo.

So do not be entangled with the affairs of this life, but live your life unto the one who called you out of the dead works of the flesh, into His marvelous light by Christ Jesus.

Check your reasons why you do certain things as to whether your motives are pleasing to the One to whom you are answerable.
