Who am I, that I should go to Pharoah and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? – Exodus 3:11.
In this passage of Scripture, GOD was communicating with Moses about His mandate. The mandate given to Moses by GOD was that he needs to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt. Knowing the type of person Pharaoh is and the rank he possesses, Moses looks at himself against the task at hand and thinks there is no way he can accomplish it.
If you could ask anyone who has had to carry out a mandate from GOD, they would tell you that they never thought they were worthy or that they could really accomplish some of the things GOD had asked them to do. A natural response for most of us after receiving an instruction from GOD is to look at our physical, mental or financial abilities. If we feel like we are lacking in one aspect or another, God’s mandate instantly becomes mission impossible to us. It really takes one to truly understand that we are just mere vessels, capable of doing nothing unless GOD is doing it in and through us.
When GOD gives you a mandate, He never looks at your mental, physical or financial abilities; all those mean nothing to Him. What GOD looks at is His power that is working in and through us. So when GOD gives you a mandate, He is not depending on you but rather on Himself, He already knows His power is more than able. All that is expected of us is to avail ourselves. We have no excuse not to serve GOD fully. The only thing that needs to come out of our mouth when the LORD calls for us is ‘HERE I AM LORD, SEND ME!’
It really takes one to truly understand that we are just mere vessels, capable of doing nothing unless GOD is doing it in and through us
