A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps – Proverbs 16:9.
The world events of the past few months have taught us that no matter how woven into the fabric of the norm our everyday lives may be, one thing can turn everything on its head. We all had our plans made. Getaways, visits, purchases that never happened because we couldn’t foresee the future. Because if we knew, we would’ve taken it easy, we wouldn’t have been so insistent with certain desires against the Holy Spirit’s counsel. We wouldn’t have put our hope in our plans. But here we are, dumbfounded, numb and circumstantially unable to make any further plans.
What have we learnt? We can knock ourselves out planning, but unless we are in alignment with God’s plans, our own will come to nothing. We have learnt that truly no matter how viable our vision, Jehovah has the final say, and wisdom would have us submit our every single plan before taking any steps further. God knows tomorrow, but for those who trust Him, tomorrow is not uncertain, it is hopeful and guaranteed!
James 4:13-15: “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”
God knows tomorrow, but for those who trust Him, tomorrow is not uncertain, it is hopeful and guaranteed!
