All praises belong to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he is the Father of tender mercy and the God of endless comfort. He always comes alongside us to comfort us in every suffering so that we can come alongside those who are in any painful trial. We can bring them this same comfort that God has poured out upon us – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 TPT.
The man of GOD has said on many occasions that GOD will use you in your area of weakness and I’d always cringe because I know just how much my area of weakness paralyzes me. It is now that I realize that GOD is glorified when we lean on Him and not on our own strength. Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12 verses 8 and 9 that: “Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
Your season of trial or temptation is to prepare you for ministry, ministering the comfort of GOD to others who have the same struggles that you may have and have learnt to lean on Christ or surrender them to Him. “Do to others what GOD has done for you”, often times we downplay our own weaknesses but magnify those of others but I believe GOD was correcting this behavior. I remember hearing someone saying it’s only in Christianity that we beat one of our own soldiers who got hurt in battle, whereas we are supposed to cover and help the “fallen” soldier get back onto his feet.
We need to encourage, strengthen and help our brethren in the same light that we have received encouragement, strength and help in our times of weakness. If GOD doesn’t beat any of us down, who are we to beat anyone else down when they are already down?
