My Perspective: Faith In The Absence Of Tangible Things

My Perspective: Faith In The Absence Of Tangible Things

(Tabitha & Kumi Siwela)

I guess I have listened to a lot of teachings around Faith but were not packed with so much insight and revelation as in this teaching. Faith according to Hebrews 11:1 is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. To see I require eyes, but for me to see beyond the physical into the spirit I need the eyes of faith – being the prerequisite to access the spiritual realm. Eyes of faith see beyond my immediate circumstances, and that’s what gives me hope and comfort because I would have seen things to come before I receive them physically.

In the same way when I am faced with trials or tests – with the faith that pleases GOD – I will be able to focus on what I would have perceived in spirit than what I am passing through at the time. Unlike now in my current state of faith, when I am passing through trials or tests my eyesight is shortsighted to the now occurrences and the physical, as a result I am not able to see beyond. Hence I worry because I don’t know what the future holds for me. Shortsighted faith is in the physical and is limited to the physical.

I am from a generation that is shortsighted; their sight is limited to the physical realm. Faith is not of the immediate realm, and it’s impossible to access the blessings of GOD without it. In science every discovery or conclusion made needs proof to guarantee its authenticity. Now, faith’s only guarantee is if we have believed, perceived and received the promises way before they materialize. I just realized that this doesn’t include any of the 5 senses that I have. My sight is one factor I should scrap when I’m waiting for GOD in faith because it could make me fall into the trap of doubt, thereby make me lose my promise altogether.

Faith is an essential for a Christian, it is a prerequisite for salvation, it helps one overcome temptation, it gives you access to the blessings and promises of GOD, and it leads us to God. Thank you for this message, it has helped me realize that I have forfeited my blessing because I used my physical senses to access the things that are supernatural, meanwhile all I need is faith which is of the spirit.

Faith’s only guarantee is if we have believed, perceived and received the promises way before they materialize
