Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come – John 16:13.
As those who have been delivered from darkness and conveyed into the Kingdom of the Son of God’s love, we live by the Spirit. The people of the land live by the rules of the land, the employees of a company abide by the rules and requirements of the company, then there’s us. We live by the Spirit. The Spirit transcends the natural, He makes us good citizens and exceptional employees. Because while we are dwellers we are not under govermental rule, while we work here we are not the property of the employer, we belong to Christ, we work here for His purpose and His glory, we do all to please Him. So while other dwellers may be disconcerted by the authorities we are autonomous, bowing only to the Spirit living in us, and He leads us to overcome all. He leads us in submission, in pioneering, in excellence, in power, in victory! While our co-workers’ sole aim may be the pay check at the end of the month, our aim is to do everything the Spirit leads us to do because that accumulates towards our heavenly account.
We cannot do anything without Him, and with Him we can do everything. He doesn’t live in us as a warm fuzzy notion, he is real in us and speaks in us. 2 Peter 1:3 says “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue”. He, the Spirit of Liberty is this ability. He knows all things, He knows about self care, He knows about relationships, He knows economy, He knows about saving and investment, He knows about finance, He knows about fitness, He knows about healthy physical relations between a man and his wife, He knows all the subjects at school, He knows about hair care, He knows about discipling and discipleship, He knows about prayer, He knows all about the lockdown, He knows EVERYTHING! We cannot afford to sideline the Holy Spirit, He is the “plug”. He is the ultimate go to, and He is within us, just talking to us, gently counseling us, what else are we looking for? Where are we looking? He is all able and limitless. He is not your mind, understand that, it is not about praying and figuring things out, no, you wait on Him, you listen out for the voice that will tell you the thing you never thought of that is consistent with the Word of God.
2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”. That Spirit is the Lord friends, He is the Master within us, we should be afraid to quench Him. Following the leading of the Spirit does not lead to bondage. You know I have heard so many people say that they don’t want God to choose for them who to marry because they don’t trust God, just now God will give them a foreigner, just now God will give them a cashless, career-less guy, just now God will give them an ugly guy… Christians!!! (Yes I mostly have these conversations with women) And this is telling, we don’t know Him, the same One who created all the good things that we consider the good stuff, as Christians we believe He created them for unbelievers and not us. For us He has saved the scraps! It’s far from the truth, let us take it from the people who have trusted Him with their lives and gotten a good testimony, Holy Spirit can never disappoint, He knows all things. I challenge you thus, in every area of your struggles, when did you listen to and obey Holy Spirit in all He counsels? and when did you block Him out? Therein lies the answer to why your life is as it is. Life shouldn’t suck for a Christian, not while Holy Spirit is around!
