“God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.” – Psalm 46:5
It is very unfortunate that in this day and age we still face a reality where ladies continually get messages that convey that they are insignificant or that they are not savvy enough for this activity or sufficiently fit to acquire that pay grade. They are not thin enough to fit into those pants. They are not alluring enough to date that person or to have a man completely commit to just them. They are not able enough to be a leader. They are not an incredible mother. They are not a phenomenal wife. This is all the negativity that seems to be clouding the judgement of women across the globe. We have heard these things so many times that we have started to believe them. I often ask myself, why is it so easy for women to buy into these negative messages? The answer is simple, women do not know their purpose. A woman who knows her purpose will not buy into the lies of society nor will she think of herself as anything less than who GOD says she is and the purpose to which she has been called.
Look at Esther for example, her purpose was to strategically deliver the Jews. Before her uncle, Mordecai, talked to her about the impending plans against the Jews, she had not done anything significant with her life. She was just an ordinary woman, living an ordinary life. She then discovered her purpose and that is when her life changed. The way she thought and saw things started to change because she now knew that she had a purpose. She became sold out to her purpose and was ready to die for her people. She is recorded to have said, “If I perish, I perish”. Esther discovered that her purpose in the palace was not just to enjoy life’s comforts; she knew her fulfilment would come from saving the lives of her people. That is what happens to a woman who has discovered her purpose, she is not swayed back and forth by the standards and norms of the society.
If you want to live a significant life or make a difference in this world, then you will have to discover your purpose and be who GOD has destined you to be. You need to make up your mind today to be a woman of purpose. Be purposeful in all that you do, refuse to conform to the standards of the world and stop measuring yourself by other people’s ideas and opinions about yourself. Discover God’s purpose for your life and give yourself completely to it, the world needs you. Someone’s deliverance depends on you, so please do not be found sleeping at your post.
If you want to live a significant life or make a difference in this world, then you will have to discover your purpose and be who GOD has destined you to be.
