Holy Spirit – My Deception Proof

“That doesn’t surprise us, for even Satan transforms himself to appear as an angel of light!”

When the devil appeared to Eve in the garden, he did not appear as himself because she would’ve recognized him and told him where to get off. He appeared disguised as a serpent, the word of God tells us that the serpent was more cunning or subtil (KJV) than any beast of the field (Genesis 3:1), which is God’s creation, which the word of God says that GOD saw that it was good (Genesis 1:25). The devil knew how to best disguise himself in order to deceive her and even today, he doesn’t show up as himself. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) but the only way he can do that is through deception and our ignorance, that is why the word of God warns us against ignorance to the devil’s devices (2 Corinthians 2:11).

When we are authentically born again by the Spirit of God through the Word, we confess our salvation and we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. From that moment He becomes our guide and guards us against the deception of the enemy. He speaks to us, whether we are aware of Him or not, [We like to say, something told me that something was off], If you are authentically born again, that “Something” is the Holy Ghost, and when you listen to Him, you will always be safeguarded from the deception of the enemy.

“Now there was a day when the sons of God (angels) came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan (adversary, accuser) also came among them.” (Job‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭AMP‬‬). The devil masquerades himself as an angel of light, the same with his ministers and messengers (demons). Our human intellect and knowledge of scripture alone, cannot guard us against the deception of the enemy, in fact, he uses these things to get us to mislead others because we are smart, articulate and we can quote scriptures at will (2 Timothy 3:13). We need to be deception proof and it is only by the Spirit of God, whom we receive as a gift when we are born again, that this is possible.
