“I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD.” – Psalms 118:17 NKJV
In this time of difficulty, what has been coming out of your mouth? Life or death? It is so easy to confess wrong because of what we see, hear or feel. I won’t lie, I get tempted, then I take some time out and ask myself, if what I’m saying is true, where is GOD? Why is He not saying anything? But thank GOD for the gift of the Holy Spirit, He comes along and reminds us of what GOD has said. We have to meditate and keep our minds fixed on what GOD has said because it’s only what He has said that is Truth (Philippians 4:8).
“Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].” (Hebrews 11:1 AMP). We need to believe and confess what GOD has said, not what things look like. GOD is our example, in Genesis 1, He saw darkness but He spoke light and light was. It is our confession that will get us to the other side, it is only faith that pleases GOD after all (Hebrews 11:6).
“But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):”(Romans 10:8 NKJV). We have to speak what we believe for God’s Word to give life to what He has said and what we have believed in our hearts. It is not enough only to believe but also to speak what we believe, that is where our victory lies. The Covid-19 death and infection numbers might be increasing but I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the LORD. This is my confession, what is yours?
We need to believe and confess what GOD has said, not what things look like
