“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.” – John 16:7

The Holy Spirit is GOD, the third person of the Trinity, He is the seal of God’s promise, GOD in us, and the very power of GOD(Acts 1:8). Holy Spirit is the One who makes our Christian confession more than just talk but a reality. He makes everything possible, He reveals the mysteries of the Kingdom, He is the reality of our Christianity. Our Lord Jesus did His work and finished, the next part is Holy Spirit’s work in us which cannot be accomplished apart from Him. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things (John 14:26), He reminds us of Christ’s teachings and of our purpose. I remember the man of God, Prophet Kya saying: “Christianity is impossible without the Holy Spirit”, there is no true Christianity without the Holy Spirit of God.

To me, Holy Spirit is my true friend. He is that sweet and gentle voice that tells me the truth. At some point in my teenage years I suffered from loneliness and depression and yet I remember Him as the voice that helped me deal with the pressures of life, the persuasive power, and the authority that smashed and dismantled all the suicidal thoughts that the devil was tormenting me with. I remember this voice as the One that told me that everything would be okay when I met the young man who wanted my hand in marriage. He has been my Comforter and Peace throughout the years. He is always truthful and always points me to the word of God. He is Jesus’ hype man, in that He always exalts Christ and makes Him real and draws me close to Christ. For a lot of people whose Christianity is limping, the issue is with their relationship with the Holy Spirit of God. A lot of people quench Him, sideline Him ignore Him, and flat out disobey Him. But He is faithful and constant, He is dependable and sticks closer than a brother!

Holy Spirit is the One who makes our Christian confession more than just talk but a reality, He makes everything possible!
