“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,” – Titus 2:11
I saw a post on social media that says, “it doesn’t matter how you are born, what matters is how you are born again”. I always marvel when I speak to people and they will give every excuse under the sun as to why they don’t want to hear about Jesus. Some will talk about what’s happening in the so-called “church” today, others will tell you about their traditions and cultures, others will even tell you that they don’t believe in a “white” Jesus. Jesus was born in a manger, I don’t think His birth could’ve been a more humble birth and with that said, it tells us just how His invitation is for all of us and not an elite group or the rich. The invitation to be born again is still available today to all, your background and how you were born, does not disqualify you. In fact, what matters is whether you accept the invitation for salvation or not.
The word of God tells us that the devil has blinded the minds of the people of the world (2 Corinthians 4:4). We all have/had “valid” reasons as to why Christianity is not for us. It is only by the grace of God that today we have been enlightened and are born again. Jesus in John 3:7 says we should not marvel when He says we should be born again, this is the reason He came after all. He came to die for us so that we may be saved, He then left us with His Holy Spirit as an agent and a seal of salvation. We cannot take the Holy Spirit for granted, He too is GOD, just as The Father and Jesus are GOD. He too was in the beginning when creation took place (Genesis 1:2).
“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” (Romans 8:9 NKJV). We are called to be Christlike in this world so that we can be vessels used by GOD to reach the lost, but many of us want to do it on our own, and instead of attracting people to Jesus, we repel them with our self-righteousness and condemnation. It is the Holy Spirit Who makes us like Christ and when we are like Him, we will be the light GOD uses to remove the blindness that the unsaved have so that they too can partake in the gift of salvation. He has marked us for the nations, sealed us for the day of salvation, and delivered us from the power of darkness into the kingdom of the Son of His love.
