“For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”” – Romans 8:16 TPT

I believe hearing the Holy Spirit whisper to your innermost being and bear witness that you are a child of God has to be one of the greatest moments one can have in one’s lifetime. It is the assurance of the new birth, a gift from above bestowed upon us by the Father. It is the paternity test coming back positive to assure you that you are a child of God. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is this free gift that opens doors to a life promised by Jesus in John 10:10, an abundant life in all areas, and a gift that is made available to everyone.

This gift can either be accepted or rejected, but the word of God tells us in John 1:12-13  that, as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of GOD. It is when we accept this gift that we are children of God, this gift is in the form of a person, the person of the Holy Spirit. When we accept Him, He comes to live on the inside of us and gives us a life far greater than anything that we could’ve ever imagined (Ephesians 3:20).

“Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.” (1 John 3:2 AMPC). It is only those who are born again and have the same Spirit as Jesus who will recognize Him when He comes again. The gift is still available, He has been given, ours is just to receive Him. When we receive Him, He will whisper to us that we are GOD’s beloved children because He is our witness to us that we are indeed God’s children.

When we accept Him, He comes to live on the inside of us and gives us a life far greater than anything that we could’ve ever imagined
