Who Is Wise And Has Understanding?

Who Is Wise And Has Understanding?

Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end – Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV

Life is mysterious. We’re locked in a time bubble. We may not really know what was and what is to be. We’re told in the Holy Book that that which has been is what will be, and that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. Life is a cycle, everything repeats itself. Humanity is caught up in the cycle. Ecclesiastes 3:15 says, “That which is has already been, and what is to be has already been; and GOD requires an account of the past.”

Who can claim to be wise or understanding in the land of the living? None, not even one. We’re all locked in time. No one can spirit himself out of it into the past or the future. GOD alone is all-wise and all-knowing. He says that His mind and manner of things compared with ours is as good as trying to figure the distance between heaven and earth. What’s the distance between heaven and earth? The answer is: undefined.

GOD made us and limited our knowledge, understanding, and wisdom according to His desire and purpose. Not only that He also gave us an inquisitive mind, that inescapable desire and longing to know more. It’s this insatiable quest that draws us back to Him. For our ultimate quest is for Him, to seek and to know Him. The ultimate of man is to arrive at GOD, to find Him – more accurately to be reconciled with Him.

Paul the apostle exclaims in exquisite beauty, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:33-34, 36. Absolutely magnanimous.

Humility and wisdom is trekking back to the Creator, rather than groping for the world’s wisdom that is futile and comes to nothing. To be foolish is to waste and be spent in the haze and maze of life, die in it without hope of a certain tomorrow, which has already begun today. Not to know GOD, is not to know your eternal future. Eternity is a timeless period where time does not exist. Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding is to be certain of this time too, which is not a time but endlessness.

“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable,” – I Corinthians 15:19 NKJV
