“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” – 2 Corinthians 4:17 NLT
“We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But GOD will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust Him more, for along with every trial GOD has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13 TPT
Suffering, for most of us, has always been a mystery, more so for a Christian. If we could all choose to escape or avoid suffering, I’d be in front of the line. I want the soft life, pain and discomfort can miss me. Before you judge me, if you have to be honest, you would choose the same. This mystery was unpacked beautifully on Friday and Sunday when we were taught that suffering is the transport that takes you to the soft life (glory is preceded by suffering). “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 NKJV.
I’m reminded of school trips back in primary school, one in particular, where I’d fall asleep, wake up, fall asleep, wake up and still not having reached the destination. The excitement was uncontainable because I knew that when we get there it’s going to be fun. This should be our attitude when going through trials, even though the journey is uncomfortable and feels like it’s taking forever, we are going somewhere and somewhere we are going. “My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can!” James (Jacob) 1:2 TPT.
Cheer up child of God, the suffering is only for a short time and has been weighed by GOD to not destroy you. The severity, nature, and timing are all ordained by GOD, He knows exactly what He’s doing. Yield to the Holy Spirit to take you through, by virtue of being in Christ, victory is guaranteed. “Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for My people Israel: They’ll rebuild their ruined cities. They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.” GOD, your GOD, says so.” Amos 9:13-15 MSG.
