“No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that GOD will never let you down; He’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; He’ll always be there to help you come through it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG
The one theme we see commonly in the Bible when it comes to God’s people is that, whenever He calls someone blessed or tells them how great they are going to be, that Word is instantly followed by trials and tribulations beyond the person’s comprehension (Nothing is as epic as GOD and His people’s life stories).
* “Noah, I’m destroying the world and saving you and your family” = Society’s going to hate and ridicule you. Oh, did I mention that you also have to physically collect every animal on earth and creepy thing to put in the ark?
* “Job, No man on earth is more righteous” = Epic loss and suffering of mega proportions.
* “David, you will be king” = You will also spend a very very long time homeless running for your life from a king who wants your blood.
* “Joseph, your family will bow before you” = You will be sold as a slave, be accused of rape, and spend countless years in a prison cell.
* “Mary, you are blessed amongst women” = Your husband will want to divorce you and your community might give you suspicious looks until you give birth.
* “Jesus, My son in whom I am well pleased” = You are going to suffer and die.
* “Paul, you have been chosen to do great works for Me” = 70% of which while risking his life and behind bars.
The list is long and incredible but the one thing they all have in common is that GOD never left or forsook a single one of them. He chose them knowing that they will not fail and He will never fail them. GOD is the same with us, His beloved children. Every blessing and glorious promise of God is attached to a test. We cannot detest the pain and only celebrate the glory. We must embrace the trials with the same praise that we do the promise even more so knowing that GOD has already made a way of escape for us. In every soul-breaking painful experience, He is right there holding our hand and reminding us of His unfailing love, grace, and mercy. There is no greater comfort than that. When the Bible says that we are made in His likeness and image, we have to know that the same Spirit that was in Jesus is the same One in us, He is in and with us.
“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:30-31 NKJV. As the man of GOD always says “GOD is not taking chances with our lives”. He knew us before the foundation of the earth, nothing we go through in our lives can take Him by surprise and He feels and knows everything we are going through. We need only to trust in His sovereignty.
He knew us before the foundation of the earth, nothing we go through in our lives can take Him by surprise and He feels and knows everything we are going through
