“Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let GOD transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God—what is good and is pleasing to Him and is perfect.” – Romans 12:2 GNT
As believers, the Bible is our constitution, the blueprint of our lives, and the standard to which we submit our thoughts and intentions. In any given situation the world tells us to do what “feels” right, what is good in our hearts and to go with the flow. But for a child of GOD, if doing what “feels” good to the soul is in direct opposition to the Word of God then we are already in a state of error. Trials and challenges happen to all of us and if GOD allows them then there is a higher purpose for them. “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;” I Peter 4:12 NKJV
Now imagine if with every trial we did what the world advises us to do. If we kept falling back to our natural state of reasoning instead of our transformed Godly state of being. We would walk straight out of our callings and into the traps of the enemy. Because when we are challenged and under pressure, what feels right could be to take a break from church to Netflix and chill for example, or to grab drinks with friends and party until our problems are a distant thought. In fact, when we are in the flesh, spiritual solutions rarely make it to the top of the options list. This is when many begin to accuse GOD of not being there for them and end up walking away from the very faith that is meant to keep them in perfect peace. As Ps Vee put it in his teaching, many have forfeited their GOD-given blessings because of decisions they made while in their feelings.
As Christians, it is imperative for us to fully understand what a blessing trials are. To know that WHEN we come out on the other side, we will be refined and perfected in the desired will of God. We all want to move levels in the Spirit but even in the world for one to move to the next class they must pass the one that they are currently in despite its difficulty. Why then do we resist the tests we go through concerning spiritual things? We need to step out of our feelings for a moment and focus on the greater picture, which is Kingdom purpose. While keeping our eyes on the ball, we also keep them firmly focused on Jesus. It is the only way to remain steady when walking on water and also navigating the storms of life which we know will not kill us. God’s plan for us is greater than we can ever understand. We need to only keep focus and be steady in all things. “Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].” Ephesians 6:13 AMP
