“And if you belong to Christ [if you are in Him], then you are Abraham’s descendants, and [spiritual] heirs according to [God’s] promise.” – Galatians 3:29 AMP
There’s so much that we as Christians are ignorant of when it comes to who we are and what we have been given by our Father. The Word of God tells us that we perish because of our lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). It is because of this very reason that we look outside of our faith to envy and even emulate those we deem to be doing better or seem more “blessed” than we are, and it is also at this very point that satan traps and fools us. He takes our inheritance and free blessings repackages them and sells them right back to us because he knows that we are not aware of what we are buying. When people are in a state of desperation and hopelessness, they see no other way out except to purchase what the devil is selling which is everything that was stolen from us in the first place. The absurdity of it all.
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of GOD and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” Romans 8:16-17 NKJV. Maybe the problem is that we do not believe what the Holy Spirit tells us about ourselves or perhaps we have not come to the full revelation of what being joint-heirs with Christ truly means for us believers. Unfortunately, this lack of understanding is what has kept many in a perpetual state of lack and limitation. The prodigal son suffered for longer than he needed to. It’s only when he remembered who he was and came to his senses that he was liberated from the mental slavery he was trapped in since the moment he left his father’s house.
“Then Jesus said to him, “Go away, Satan! For it is written and forever remains written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’ ” Matthew 4:10 AMP. There is no other GOD worthy of the praise. All things belong to Him and as His children, we are partakers of all things in this life and beyond. The Bible is written for us and is about us. It is our history and the only way to come into the full understanding of what we possess and how to walk confidently in it. Christ has given us everything we need to live a life of victory. We just need to come to the understanding of what that means.
