“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.” – John 15:7 AMP
There is a great misconception that all that one has to do is pray and things will happen, and apparently, what you do and how you live your life doesn’t matter to GOD. Then when it seems prayers aren’t being answered, people begin to accuse GOD. They become shaky in the faith and some even give up altogether because they feel that their prayers are not being answered. The gospel of “name it and claim it” has misled many and brought about disappointment. If it was that simple, every so-called believer would be living a life of prosperity and success with no real worries in the world but that is not what GOD has called us for. There is so much more that our Father wants for us. Things that are beyond the physical and to attain all that belongs to us we must be in full alignment with Him.
“For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine promises, make every effort] in [exercising] your faith to, develop moral excellence, and in moral excellence, knowledge (insight, understanding),” 2 Peter 1:5 AMP. We all know that hard work, consistency, and discipline pay off in the long run. The same applies when appropriating the blessings of God. Everything we want and need requires faith. Growing in our knowledge of Christ and in His ways. This is the only language understood in the Spirit and what ultimately causes us to be fruitful. There’s no cheat sheet or corner-cutting where GOD is concerned. He plays His part and we have ours to play too. As one goes about doing their best, remember to “Pour out all your worries and stress upon Him and leave them there, for He always tenderly cares for you.”1 Peter 5:7 TPT.
GOD is just as vested in us winning in this life. He desires to see us doing well and enjoying every good gift that He has laid out for us but we must not be deceived. It is imperative for us to “be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 TPT, and nothing devours quicker and more brutally than the price of sin. It costs us more than we will ever understand.
