Sunday Message Summary, 18 June 2023
Personal knowledge of GOD settles the issue of faith in the heart of man (2 Timothy 1:12 NKJV). GOD is the subject of our faith, so it is easier to believe Him when we know and understand Him (Isaiah 43:10-11 NKJV). The confidence and conviction of Jesus, for example, came from knowing that His Father is greater than all (John 10:29 NKJV). In another example, John says they declared and preached Him whom they knew and believed. They had personal, intimate knowledge of GOD, which made them steadfast in their faith (1 John 1:1-2 NKJV). There is a difference between knowing GOD and knowing about GOD. The key is to know Him. Unbelief and doubt cannot be our portion when we know Him.
GOD is so great that the human vocabulary is pathetically insufficient to describe Him. He was GOD before the beginning, before the beginning He was. Before anything we are faced with, He was. He is unrivalled, incomparable, unsurpassed, and matchless. He dwells in the highest heavens, and everything is under Him, including our troubles (Isaiah 66:1-2 NKJV). GOD made all things. There is nothing that is made that was not made by Him (John 1:3 NKJV). This is the GOD we declare, proclaim, preach, and have faith in. Everything is at His mercy (Nahum 1:4-5 NKJV).
If GOD made all things, what is impossible with Him? How can we think that there is anything above Him? Impossible is the easiest thing with GOD. All things were made through Him, so all things are possible for Him. Armed with this knowledge, there is no reason for us to be defeated by Satan. We have no crisis that GOD cannot solve, but when we exalt things above Him, those things begin to master us. It does not matter where what we are believing GOD for is situated. He created both the visible and invisible worlds and all that is in them (Colossians 1:16-17 NKJV). There is therefore nothing that we cannot triumph over as children of GOD. It is all absolutely nothing, but GOD is everything. We should not be alarmed, but only believe (Mark 5:35-36 NKJV). We must know who GOD is.
We must be immoveable and unshaken, believing in GOD. However, it is knowledge of GOD that is key in faith. We are merely common and ordinary when we go to GOD to ask only for things and not to know Him, but history is waiting to be made by us by stirring ourselves up to get a hold of Him (Daniel 11:32b NKJV). Creation is waiting on us to manifest the living GOD. May we seek Him and may He be revealed.
There is a difference between knowing GOD and knowing about GOD. The key is to know Him.
