The Pastor Of The Church

The Pastor Of The Church

Sunday Message Summary, 10 September 2023

In the Kingdom of GOD, the Church of Christ, we are all consigned to pastoral care (Ephesians 4:8,11 NKJV). Pastors are foreknown, preselected, and placed in a position of authority and power to oversee the Church. We do not give ourselves pastors, but pastors are given to us by GOD (Jeremiah 3:15 KJV). For example, in Revelation 1:10-20, we see that each of the seven churches in Asia Minor have a pastor. The LORD is in the midst of these seven churches with the pastors in His right hand (Revelation 1:20 NKJV).

Pastors are in the position of authority and power over the Church, and they have the responsibility to watch over our souls (Hebrews 13:17 KJV). The battle is for our souls, and the LORD knows that. Therefore, pastors are a shield, barrier, and buffer between us and the powers of Hell. The Church is built on pastoral headship and the rhema Word of GOD (Matthew 16:17-19 NKJV), so the devil will always gun after the pastor when he is gunning for us. In the Kingdom of GOD, there is no independence. We are all dependent on Christ and we are all interdependent on one another.

Under the pastoral covering in the Church, GOD commands a blessing (Psalms 133:1-3 NKJV). Unless there is order, GOD will not move nor appear. Holy Spirit will not move where there is disorder. The anointing that sustains the Church is upon the pastor, and this anointing never stops flowing where there is right alignment. GOD will not stop pouring His anointing, His blessing, and His Spirit on us, as long as we live in harmony, submission and obedience to spiritual leadership.

When GOD wants to communicate a message to the Church, He does it through the pastor. This is the communication pattern of the Church. When it comes to things that things that concern and affect the Church, GOD will not reveal anything if GOD has not revealed it to the pastor, or if the pastor cannot confirm (Revelation 2:1,8,12 NKJV). This is divine protocol. GOD will by no means override, bypass, and undermine His own authority, order, and protocol.

Under the pastoral covering in the Church, GOD commands a blessing.
