The Season That Now Is

The Season That Now Is

Sunday Message Summary, 15 October 2023

Everything that GOD made is governed by time and seasons, nothing is excluded, and you and I are included. The different stages of our lives are governed by time and seasons. There is a time for everything under heaven [Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 NKJV] – there is a right time and season (i.e. the right time to do something), and there is also a wrong time and season (i.e. the wrong time to do something). Timing is the wisdom to know what to do, at the right time and at the right season; the wisdom to wait for the opportune time, the wisdom to wait on our kairos; and this knowing (this timing) of when to do and what to do, determines our success or failure. GOD has put time and seasons in place as an integral part of our lives for our benefit, to work for us, and to help us. It is of critical importance to be cognisant of (and indeed to recognize) the time and season to do the right thing for us to yield maximum results from our efforts. Recognize that your kairos, your opportune critical time to do something, does not come every day, it is not a common occurrence; that it cannot be repeated at will when you have missed it; and that you will not know when such a time will present itself again because these things are governed by GOD and come only by divine operations. Do not miss it when it comes.

A savvy and discerning child of GOD knows to wait for that one opportune kairos moment, which will come at the right time and season of their life, when everything will favor them and when GOD will cause all things to work together for their good, no matter how things may look. This will be the time and season when everything that GOD has created for them comes into divine alignment and favors them. GOD operates in season, and no amount of toiling, slaving away, or trying to cheat the system will make a difference when it is done outside of GOD’s appointed time and season for your life. However, when you are living within your season, you will know it because you will expend the least amount of effort and derive maximum results and because in that season your breakthrough will be unstoppable.

Why does the prophecy in Isaiah 54:1 NIV call out to the childless woman to “sing, barren woman”, when human nature would keep a childless woman extra careful not to get her hopes up for a child? This is because the prophecy tells us that GOD is looking for a particular posture from us for us to usher in our season of breakthrough and turnaround; there is a particular posture, a right posture in the spirit that GOD seeks from us, this is one which calls on us to sing, to praise, to rejoice! Notice that the Word doesn’t say go to GOD and lament or put on sackcloth and sanctify a fast. No.

The Bible says when your moment comes, when your kairos comes, you are to sing, to rejoice. In addition to this, James 5:7-8 NKJV calls on us to wait for our harvest, our divine kairos moment, because GOD will create a perfectly timed divine opportunity for our advancement, completely orchestrated by heaven, for us to reap our harvest at the right time and at the right season. GOD has set the time and seasons in motion, it is surely coming, and we must be mindful not to divert it because of unbelief, the kind of unbelief that settles in when people have been in the night for so long that they have lost all faith that morning will come. The Word of GOD says weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning [Psalm 30:5]. We are certain that the joy (the what) and the morning (the when) of our harvest (our kairos moment) are unavoidable – so do not conclude your life in the night of your life when there is joy coming in the morning of your life.

We must respect time. Time is critically important as everything is governed by time. The difference between day and night is time; the difference between life and death is time; the difference between sowing and harvest is time; the difference between the promise and the fulfillment is time. The thing standing between us and our season is time. This is the reason why we are told to wait patiently and to rejoice while we wait. GOD has assigned time and seasons to govern this world because without time there will be chaos and disorder. Seasons come and seasons go, but time never stops, it just keeps ticking. This tells us that what is coming is unstoppable because time never stops. So every day we move closer to our season of turnaround – it is surely coming, this is certain.

If you can believe GOD for the rain expected in Spring, you can surely believe GOD for His promises to you for your life. The words “in due season” in Galatians 6:9 remind us that there is a season that is coming. We must step out in faith and put everything towards the due season. Stepping out in faith means that when you are in your due season, you will act in accordance with GOD’s promises despite not having the means to fulfill the promises because you are believing GOD to fulfill His promises for you. Just like the clouds that are full of rain which empty themselves upon the earth, in due season GOD will empty his blessings upon His people [Ecclesiastes 11:3], that is what GOD says.

GOD is aware that you are (were) in the wilderness [Deuteronomy 8:2-3]. GOD allowed your wilderness, it was not by chance, it was divine. The wilderness is passing and cannot compare with what awaits you beyond it. After choosing you, GOD deliberately subjects you to the wilderness to prepare you for His purpose, to prepare you to carry His blessings to the nations to declare and proclaim praises to Him [1 Peter 2:9]. If we cooperate with the time and seasons that GOD subjects us to and we patiently wait out the process, our divine kairos moment for the promised turnaround will be inevitably unstoppable because there is no wilderness that is in vain [Psalms 126:6]. If there’s a time for weeping and sowing, there is also a time for reaping (harvesting) and rejoicing. As surely as day comes after night, your divine kairos moment to harvest is surely coming. This is the faithful GOD we serve.

GOD allowed your wilderness, it was not by chance, it was divine. The wilderness is passing and cannot compare with what awaits us beyond it
