Pay Attention To What You Hear

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of GOD” – ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“He went on to say, “Pay attention to what you hear. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and even more will be added to you.” – Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭24‬ ‭BSB‬‬

The Word of GOD commands us, not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬). This is one of the most difficult things in the Christian walk, it is that part where we have to get our thinking to align with GOD’s thinking. It is a lifelong journey by which the Holy Spirit helps us and takes us through the Word of GOD. This requires dedication and application, it is not just a one time event, but a daily exercise. This is why it is of utmost importance for us to be in the Word and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit every day.

We live in a world that is full of information, a lot of it is filth and lies, carrying some sort of narrative and agenda. We don’t even have to go looking for this information, it is right in our faces, constantly. We then, have to choose what to take in, and it is to the measure that we take it in that our thinking changes. It is the same with the Word of GOD, the more we commit ourselves to the Holy Spirit teaching us the Word, the more our thinking and the way we see the world around us changes. The way we see everything happening in our lives, changes. We see results by the measure which we take the Word to heart and apply it in our lives.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it.” Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭8‬-‭11‬ ‭BSB‬‬. GOD has sent us His thoughts and His ways in the form of His Word, so that we too may understand His thoughts and His ways. This is why He tells us that if we lack wisdom, we should ask Him, Who gives generously without finding fault (James 1:5).

We see results by the measure which we take the Word to heart and apply it in our lives
