Even When The Fat Lady Has Sung… GOD

Even When The Fat Lady Has Sung… GOD

“So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, “LORD, he [our brother and Your friend] whom You love is sick.” When Jesus heard this, He said, “This sickness will not end in death; but [on the contrary it is] for the glory and honor of GOD, so that the Son of GOD may be glorified by it.” – ‭‭John‬ ‭11‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“So then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. And for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” – ‭‭John‬ ‭11‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

There is a saying that says, “It’s not over until the fat lady sings.” But for us believers, we know that only Christ has the final say. We have read and even heard testimonies of people who went as far as dying and Jesus fetching them from the pits of hell. That’s how mighty and glorious GOD is in the life of a believer. Because we are in the flesh and in this earthly realm, it is easy for us to conclude on our lives. To feel that what we are facing is the hardest and deepest experience we will ever have. That when we have gone through pain and have lost everything then we wait to die because it’s over and we simply cannot see how tomorrow can come or how the sun can possibly shine again. But the Word of GOD tells us to “Rejoice in the LORD always. Again I will say, rejoice!” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. The LORD is the One who knows to what end our experience is taking us. And the extent is always to the glory of GOD.

The problem with us sometimes is that we do not see the difference between ourselves and the people of the world. We assume our stories are the same and the end is the same. Which can never be true because we are the anointed of the LORD. We are kings and a royal priesthood. Jesus Christ is the author and the finisher of our lives, and this author loves us even unto death, so He cannot give us a tragic ending. What would have been the point and how then would the world see the glory of our GOD if the conclusion for the saved and the unsaved is the same?

It’s not always easy to trust the journey. Especially when GOD keeps trusting us with harder, deeper, and sometimes scarier and more painful and challenging assignments. But He has always promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us. Ours is to keep our eyes on Him and believe that the end will be greater than we can ever imagine. Maybe we need to get to a point where we embrace the wild and frightening with the same peace and love we do the good and beautiful, because the One who is writing the story will always ensure it is a love story written from the deepest part of His love for us. It’s an issue of trust at the end of the day. “And we know that GOD causes everything to work together for the good of those who love GOD and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NLT‬‬. As long as you are part of GOD’s plan and are carrying out the purpose of GOD in your life, your story will forever be a good one. GOD protects His investments and He has deposited way too much in us to let our problems kill us.

Jesus Christ is the author and the finisher of our lives, and this author loves us even unto death, so He cannot give us a tragic ending
