“GOD has redeemed my life from going to the pit [of destruction], And my life shall see the light.’ ” – ‭‭Job‬ ‭33‬:‭28‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of GOD [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our LORD” – Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭23‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I once heard a man of GOD say, “Those who receive Christ later in life will have to work twice as hard to make up the time they lost.” I could not help but think about my own life and how I felt when I was finally born again and had committed my life to GOD. I was shocked at how much time I spent thinking I was a good person living a good life and that I was a Christian because I went to church and prayed. Little did I know that I was far from the Kingdom and all I was doing really was squandering the gift of time and life that GOD had so graciously given me.

Something inexplicably deep happens when one is truly born again in Christ. One of the first things you notice is how different you actually are. How the things that you once held in high regard no longer matter and you yourself no longer have interest in them. What I was not prepared for, however, was the mourning period I found myself going through. I mourned for the time I had wasted and for the life I could have had, had I given my life to Christ sooner. If I knew then what I know now, life would have been infinitely different. I would have done better with so many things I was given at the time and would have trusted the Holy Spirit to help me make better decisions with regard to the jobs, the financial blessings, and even the divine opportunities GOD had blessed me with.

The problem always starts when we think we are in control and that this life is ours and for us to do with as we please. The truth is, nine out of ten times, we have NO idea what we are doing or what we should do outside of Christ. Someone can argue that people in the world seem to be doing perfectly fine. But when you look deeper into their lives and speak to them, you realize how much is missing in them. Life becomes infinitely easier when it is fully surrendered to GOD to do with it as He pleases. The Holy Spirit begins to lead and guide us in the way we should go. What is beautiful about this is that, even when things do not make sense, the destination is always perfect and is for our greater good.

We have so many desires, most of which can be bigger than ourselves. But we forget that with every level we want to move up to, we must master and conquer the one we are in. “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much, and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.” Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

I pray for those of us who realize and understand what a blessing this life is, will use the gifts GOD has entrusted us with to benefit His Kingdom and others. This life is shorter than we realize, and I believe we will only understand how short it really is when we are in our moment of death, and see how much we still had to do but neglected. Thank GOD that we have a Father in heaven who is more than happy to restore us, as soon as we make a decision to recommit ourselves to Him. He is the restorer of all good gifts, including time. Which, in my opinion, is one of the greatest gifts.

Life becomes infinitely easier when it is fully surrendered to GOD to do with it as He pleases
