“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son” – John 14: 12-13 NIV
From last week’s teaching we came to the realization that being born again has translated us into the realm of the supernatural. We were elevated from a life of mediocrity to that of the supernatural. Though physically we are still on earth, yet our spirit man is seated with Christ in the heavenly realms. It’s in this realm that our powers and abilities draw their strength.
In the above Scripture, Christ elaborates on what He’s been able to do while He was on earth in His physical form. He had done wonders and miracles and his reputation was unquestionable. Yet He then said that we can do even greater than what He’s been able to do here. How is that even possible? Yet when you think about it He’s only been able to work or operate on earth for only three years, and we have years of work that’s still coming. “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of GOD, Who loved me and gave Himself for me” Galatians 2:20 NIV. This, then, means everything Christ has done on earth I’m also able to do as well, seeing that He is living on the inside of me.
In John 14:12-13 (esp vs 13) we can see that we have another ace up our sleeves to be able to perform or achieve far more than we thought we could. He that has enabled us to achieve wonders and miracles on earth is now with the Father. He is also interceding for us directly with the Creator of heaven and earth. As a result, we now have transcended to a level that now has even more access to our Father. This is what is meant by we are growing from glory to glory as the righteous of GOD. All this is possible not because of anything we have done to deserve it, but all through His grace over our lives.
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” John 16:33 NIV. Clearly, this settles the matter if there was any doubt. The One Who lives inside of me has personal experience of overcoming this world, and seeing that He now lives and operates inside of me, I too have the ability and the know-how to overcome, and I’ve already and continue to overcome (from glory to glory). This is how and why I now reign, I don’t just exist but I now reign. To GOD be the glory.
