It’s ALL In The Name… And In The Person

”Therefore GOD also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,“ – Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

”And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.“ – ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

One of the most important things that we need while doing life here on this earth, is power. Most, if not all of us, are attached to some or other source of power. Others go to mountains and on pilgrimages to get power. In Christ, we have been given both power and authority the moment we place our faith in Jesus, the greatest power and the greatest authority. This is the power and authority from above in which we are expected to operate in to overcome while here on earth as believers in Jesus (1 John 5:4).

We often don’t see this power and authority at work in our lives because we are yet to grow in the knowledge of Christ, and what this power and authority is for and can do. Once we have this knowledge, we then have to apply it and walk in it. It is when we understand that the name of Jesus is not a magic wand or a secret formula to make things happen, that we get to experience the true power behind the Name. He is a person and He lives on the inside of us by His Holy Spirit, making us like Him. When we walk like Him, and talk like Him, we begin to transform into His image and walk in His power and authority (2 Corinthians 3:18).

We have not only been given the Name but also the person of Jesus Christ. He is the one who qualifies us to be children and sons of the most high. He has revealed Himself in the Word and it is through the Word that we get to know Him. ”But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of GOD living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to Him at all.)“ Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬.
