Given To Give

Given To Give

”Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing [that is, your resources] and increase the harvest of your righteousness [which shows itself in active goodness, kindness, and love]. You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous, and this [generosity, administered] through us is producing thanksgiving to GOD [from those who benefit].“ – 2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Whether we believe it or not, many of us know that the spiritual law of receiving starts with giving. It’s amazing to me how non-believers have mastered this divine law, hence we can see that some of the biggest givers/ philanthropists in the world are not even Christians, and yet they keep getting richer and richer while the non-givers get poorer. Many of those who do not progress blessings wise are the ones who have the most to say about why they cannot give. But remember, GOD does not ask us to give anything that we do not already have, no matter how little we think have. His asking us to give is a deep expression of His love because by doing so we are triggering HIM to honor the spiritual law of blessing us exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or think. The depth in which Jesus loves His people is the biggest reason why He blesses us. This is so we can also be a blessing to others, and so that no one on this earth should suffer. As believers, we have been appointed as caretakers to the needy, and GOD has blessed us with everything we need to be a blessing.

It is futile for us to wait until we have an abundance in order to give. True giving has to be a sacrifice that rises up to GOD as a sweet-smelling aroma. It must cost us something. ”But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my GOD burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them.“ 2 Samuel‬ ‭24‬:‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬.

Yes, sometimes we become afraid to give because it looks like the more we give the less we will have. But the truth is whenever we give, we are giving in to a heavenly bank that will always payout with interest. “Not that I seek the gift itself, but I do seek the profit which increases to your [heavenly] account [the blessing which is accumulating for you].“ Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬ ‭AMP‬‬. This is the heavenly, divine economic system that is designed to respond to giving. A lot of the blessings we see today could very well be linked to acts of kindness and the love we gave to others in the past. Whether through our giving of money, time, gifts, or even our time in prayer, whatever we put out there was an investment. So it would do us good to invest wisely as we truly do reap what we sow, and the rain will always come to water the seed we have put in the ground.

True giving has to be a sacrifice that rises up to GOD as a sweet-smelling aroma. It must cost us something
