”And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. [Isa. 40:5.]“ – John 1:14 AMPC
”But how are people to call upon Him Whom they have not believed [in Whom they have no faith, on Whom they have no reliance]? And how are they to believe in Him [adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him] of Whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher?“ – Romans 10:14 AMPC
I saw a video yesterday, where the guy was going through some calculations to show that Jesus is returning this year. I won’t go into the explanation but it sounded pretty convincing until I remembered that I have seen these kinds of videos every year for as long as I can remember and all of them were pretty convincing. It made me realize that a lot of Christians move away from a relationship with Jesus and chase after so many other things that, at face value, seem spiritual. Other online arguments are around the rapture, is there a rapture? Is it pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, or post-tribulation? Please don’t get me wrong, studying the Word, getting knowledge, and knowing what the Word says about the time we are living in is important but we must not allow these things to shift our focus from the main thing. We need to keep the main thing the main thing, and that is a living relationship with Jesus.
”Nor pay any attention to cultural myths, traditions, or the endless study of genealogies. Those digressions only breed controversies and debates. They are devoid of power that builds up and strengthens the church in the faith of GOD.“ 1 Timothy 1:4 TPT. We are not saved to involve ourselves in never-ending debates, but rather, to cultivate a relationship with Jesus and after that, go and lead others into the same relationship. If this wasn’t the case, we would’ve been taken to heaven at the moment that we received Christ and were born again.
As we behold Him, we become, and when we become more like Him, the more others see Him in us. (2 Corinthians 3:18). Our seeking of Him extends beyond what is in it for us, it is connected to our purpose and Kingdom assignment. There is a world that needs saving, and He has called us to be His vessels to reach this lost world. There is no time to be playing church. Should Jesus come back this year, what will we say to Him when many are left behind? ”However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [this kind of persistent] faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8b AMP.
As we behold Him, we become, and when we become more like Him, the more others see Him in us.
