Love Is Who We Are!

”Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,“ – Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.“ – ‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We are who we are today because of the love of GOD for us, He saw that we were dead in our trespasses and He put His love in action. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us, but not only us, Christians, but for the whole world. It’s mind-blowing to think that He died for me while I was still a sinner, an enemy of GOD (Romans 5:8). This is who GOD is! He even died for the people who will ultimately reject Him, blaspheme Him, and persecute Him. His love is perfect and does not discriminate.

There’s a saying that goes, “GOD loves the people that you hate”, but if we claim to be children of GOD, we should love everyone, the same way God does. If we have to be honest with ourselves, how many of us would die for our enemies? We have to grow in love because love is who you are, when we give love, we give of who we are, which speaks of our identity as children of God. God is love (1 John 4:8b) and because He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). A true child of God is known by their love, their love for GOD, fellow believers, the world or the unsaved, and even their enemies.

“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”(II Corinthians‬ ‭5:18-19 NKJV). The love of GOD does not reject, condemn, or pass sentence on, but it is there to reconcile man to GOD and man to man, we cannot say we love GOD whom we cannot see when we fail to love a fellow brother or sister whom we can see (1 John 4:20). The world needs Jesus and the earnest expectation of creation is waiting on you to put your love in action because love is who we are!
