”Until the time that his word came to pass, The Word of the LORD tested him.“ – Psalms 105:19 NKJV
”GOD’s promise to Joseph purged his character until it was time for his dreams to come true.“ – Psalms 105:19 TPT
If GOD were to ask any of us if we are ready for the fulfillment of His promise, most, if not all of us, would answer with a resounding “YES”. The truth is all of us always think that we are more ready than we actually are and that is why, I believe that GOD takes us through a wilderness before we can enter the place of promise. ”Remember how the LORD your GOD led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey His commands.“ Deuteronomy 8:2 NLT. This process requires a made-up mind that come what may, I won’t give up.
This process is necessary because we are still full of self, the promise is still about us, but by the time we arrive at the destination, it will be about the purpose of GOD. ”But as for you, you meant evil against me; but GOD meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.“ Genesis 50:20 NKJV. What should keep us going is knowing that GOD still has a plan and that we are being prepared for the promise through the things that we go through. This preparation will require us to fight, I believe we have 3 enemies, the flesh, the world, and the devil and though we’ve been given the victory, we are required to fight, but we don’t fight FOR victory, we fight FROM victory.
We fight with the Word of GOD, the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). That is where our victory lies, any other weapon will lead to defeat. It’s easy for us to be content with good theology and an active Christian life, and forget that we have the responsibility to gain ground and subdue kingdoms. It’s all part of our calling, ”And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.“ Luke 19:13 KJV. After having prayed, we go out with boldness and confidence, knowing that GOD will help us.
I believe we have 3 enemies, the flesh, the world, and the devil and though we’ve been given the victory, we are required to fight, but we don’t fight FOR victory, we fight FROM victory
