Life-Giving Water

“So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.” – James‬ ‭2‬:‭17‬ ‭BSB‬‬

“On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’” – John‬ ‭7‬:‭37‬-‭38‬ ‭BSB‬‬

There’s a saying that goes; “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink”, this proverb means that you can give someone an opportunity but you cannot force them to take it. Christianity tells us that Christ accomplished EVERYTHING at the cross, all that’s left for us is to believe and receive through knowledge and revelation of Him and what He has done for us. Both of these require intentionality and don’t just happen by mistake. This means that we are to cooperate with Him and allow Him to work out the plan He has for our lives.

“‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is useless for you to fight against my will.’” Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭26‬:‭14b‬ ‭NLT‬‬. We’ve often heard people say that GOD’s will is painful, but how else would he get us to where He needs us to be? Not only that but we often get ourselves into terrible situations and we say it’s GOD’s will. “There are some people who ruin their own lives and then blame it all on GOD.” Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭3‬ ‭TPT‬‬. GOD has a way to work out His will in our lives, even if He takes us through pain. This pain, more often than not, is necessary and is for our good.

“So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭TPT‬‬. With all that being said, we should allow GOD to lead us, and drink daily so that we are filled and stay filled with His Holy Spirit. This doesn’t mean that we won’t go through things, but we will go through them with Him, knowing that He’s working out every detail together for our good and for the fulfillment of His purpose. “A second time the angel of the LORD returned and touched him, saying, “Get up and eat, or the journey will be too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank. And strengthened by that food, he walked forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of GOD.” 1 Kings‬ ‭19‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭BSB‬‬. It is when we are filled that we are able to move forward and for Him to use us in the lives of others.

“He always comes alongside us to comfort us in every suffering so that we can come alongside those who are in any painful trial. We can bring them this same comfort that GOD has poured out upon us.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ ‭TPT‬‬

GOD has a way to work out His will in our lives, even if He takes us through pain. This pain, more often than not, is necessary and is for our good.
