The Gift That Keeps On Giving

The Gift That Keeps On Giving

“Remember this: If a farmer plants only a few seeds, he will not get much as a result. But if he plants plenty of seeds, he will get a big harvest. Each of you should think carefully and then decide how much you can give. Then you will not be sad to give that money. Nobody has made you give it. GOD loves someone who is happy to give help to other people.” – 2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭EASY‬‬.

One of the first things we need to remember when it comes to giving is that GOD is the one that provides us with both what to give and what to keep. And to show just how deep His love for us goes, this cycle of giving and receiving works all the time and flawlessly. This is one of those divine spiritual laws that has been understood and respected by many since time immemorial. Even though the “how” is a great mystery, people from all spiritual beliefs and backgrounds just know it works.

Of course, we do not give so that we can receive, rather it is something we should always do from a place of our love for GOD and who He is to us. Arguments on the topics of “to give or not to give, to tithe or not to tithe”, should not make sense to a truly born-again, Holy Spirit-filled child of GOD. “One tenth of everything that comes from the land is holy to the LORD. It may be grain or fruit. It belongs to the LORD.” Leviticus‬ ‭27‬:‭30‬ ‭EASY‬‬. GOD created absolutely EVERYTHING on this earth that we benefit from and enjoy, and as such, our tithes legally belong to HIM. How beautiful it would be for more believers to see and understand that being able to pay our tithes is in itself a blessing as it shows that we have something to give.

There’s a joy that comes with being able to give gifts and to do great things for those we love. It fulfills us in such a deep and divine way that also reminds us that, we too are being blessed. So there’s never really any need to hold on to more than what we should. The LORD is a good GOD and He is worthy of all honour and praise. As such, our giving should worship and exalt Him as our first love. Not only are His gifts to us without repentance, but His Word also says, “The blessing of the LORD brings [true] riches, And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from GOD].” Proverbs‬ ‭10‬:‭22‬ ‭AMP.

How beautiful it would be for more believers to see and understand that being able to pay our tithes is in itself a blessing as it shows that we have something to give.
