Wisdom That Sets Us Apart

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” – Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

There’s a saying that goes, “Love is spelled T-I-M-E”, simply meaning, that love is demonstrated and shown through the time and attention we give to others. It suggests that love is not just a feeling, but also an action that requires effort and dedication. In other words, the saying implies that the way we spend our time with others, care for them, and prioritize them in our lives is a tangible expression of our love for them. It’s a reminder that love is not just a sentimental feeling, but also a choice that requires us to invest time and energy in our relationships. For example, spending quality time with loved ones, listening to them, supporting them, and being present for them are all ways that “spell out” love in a tangible way.

This is also seen in our Christian walk, in how we prioritize spending time with Jesus and getting to know Him. There’s a difference between knowing ABOUT Jesus and knowing Him. Many believers know about Him but haven’t taken the time to get to know Him personally and intimately. It is when we spend time with Him that we become more and more like Him. “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the LORD, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the LORD who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬.

“But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of GOD and the wisdom of GOD. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from GOD, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭24‬, ‭30‬ ‭ESV‬‬. Christ is the wisdom of GOD and also GOD’s gift to us, so GOD has given us wisdom as a gift in the person of Jesus. The more time we spend with Him, the more we partake of the gift, we become more like Him and also grow in the gift of wisdom. This wisdom is available to all of us, regardless of social status, educational level, race, gender, etc. And when we walk in this gift, it’ll become evident to all that we’ve been with Jesus.

Christ is the wisdom of GOD and also GOD’s gift to us, so GOD has given us wisdom as a gift in the person of Jesus
