It’s Not Easy. But So So Worth It.

It’s Not Easy. But So So Worth It.

“I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.” –
‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭AMP‬‬

There’s a certain jadedness we experience and see around us as we get older. Or maybe we become less willing to trust GOD for certain things because of the amount of disappointments we have gone through, and as a result, see it better to take matters into our own hands and go ahead and take control of our destinies. The problem with going ahead of GOD is all the beautiful and divine things we forfeit along the way. We are like people who dig up what they have planted before it has had time to fully ripen. Such crops become only good to dispose of, and that is what often happens to everything we start outside of GOD’s time and hand.

One of the reasons why waiting upon the LORD is such a humbling and soul-breaking experience is that, we as human beings live in the realm of time, whereas GOD is not confined to time according to how we see it. We see life happening around us and have an expectation of where we should be at a certain point in order for the world to see us as successful. But waiting requires us to be completely humble and surrendered to GOD. To trust that indeed what He has said, He alone will bring it to pass in His perfect time. To be able to love GOD more than the promise, more than what we are trusting Him for. We must ask ourselves, if it happened that we would not get what we are praying for, would GOD still be GOD in our lives and would we love Him the same? If the answer exalts the promise above GOD, then perhaps we should question our heart’s intents.

We need to relook at how we spend our time in the waiting season. “But people who wait for the LORD to help them will receive new strength. They will rise up high, as if they have the wings of eagles. They will run and they will not become tired. They will walk and they will not become weak.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭31‬ ‭EASY‬‬
This period needs to be one of falling in love with GOD and giving Him all of ourselves, and allowing Him to transform us into the version that is ready for what we are trusting Him for. We might not be aware while we are stewing in our impatience that we are being perfected and being loved in such a special way by our Father, but in truth that is exactly what is happening. We should set our hearts and minds on using this time to grow and improve ourselves in positive ways. To slowly become those who are already walking in the promise and experiencing the joy and excitement that comes with it, even though we have not physically attained it. Ultimately, when GOD is in it, it will always be 100% worth the wait.

We must ask ourselves, if it happened that we would not get what we are praying for, would GOD still be GOD in our lives and would we love Him the same?
