“But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of GOD], and all these things will be given to you also.” – Matthew 6:33 AMP
Often when you speak to people about breakthrough or what we need to do to appropriate the blessings of GOD, you’ll hear very deep and often interesting theories and some backed up by scripture. Even though the people are not altogether wrong, GOD is still clear about His starting point, SEEK HIM!!! All things are in Him. So by virtue of finding Him, we find all these other things we desire. GOD is greater than any desire we have and is by far more fulfilling than any earthly thing we can strive for or acquire. So exalting our own plans and making excuses about the things that are taking up our time above the knowledge of GOD is robbery to our lives, even though it might look like winning to the world.
““LORD, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.” – Psalms 39:4 NKJV. The greatest lie of the enemy was making us believe we have all the time in the world. The Psalmist was wise when he acknowledged how frail he is and how life is as vapor. The LORD asks us to seek Him while He May be found, because a time will come when He will not be found. This revelation always puts a fear in me that I can never fully express. I’m completely dependent on GOD and the idea of one day waking up and not being able to find Him when I call is beyond comprehension. It’s how I imagine a small child feels when they wake up alone in an empty house and they start screaming for their mother. That moment of fear they experience must feel like the end of life as they know it.
GOD loves us more than we can ever fathom and He is constantly chasing after us. The reward of His finding us is a true and sincere relationship with Him. In this season we are being called to a life of consecration and intimacy with GOD, “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,” – Philippians 3:10 NKJV. We cannot partake in the fullness of His glory and blessings when we are not willing to inconvenience ourselves for Him and surrender ourselves to His will.
GOD is ready. He has always been ready, and there is nothing too hard for Him. There is no good thing that He wants to withhold from us and certainly no miracle He does not desire to perform on our behalf. The issue is, and has always been with people, we tend to seek and to desire the blessings more than Him. As we ready ourselves to experience the supernatural that comes with open heavens, may we ever be conscious of our heart posture and true intentions of why we are seeking Him. At the end of the day, HE is the ultimate breakthrough.
We cannot partake in the fullness of His glory and blessings when we are not willing to inconvenience ourselves for Him and surrender ourselves to His will
