“Delightfully loved ones, if he loved us with such tremendous love, then “loving one another” should be our way of life! No one has ever gazed upon the fullness of GOD’s splendor. But if we love one another, GOD makes his permanent home in us, and we make our permanent home in him, and his love is brought to its full expression in us. And he has given us his Spirit within us so that we can have the assurance that he lives in us and that we live in him.” – 1 John 4:11-13 TPT
GOD is not like love, He does not look or feel like love, He is Love. Therefore, the fullness and intimate knowledge of Love (GOD) can only be experienced in Love (GOD). There’s a popular saying that says, “Charity begins at home”, in this case, we cannot say that we’re of GOD and not walk in love towards one another. Because how can we truly love GOD whom we have not seen yet have hatred towards another believer? [1 John 4:20 TPT], the same believer that is made in His image? To not love a fellow believer is to not love GOD. Until we get to a point whereby our walk with GOD becomes a lifestyle that is not just filled with words, we will then begin to sincerely walk in Love with one another, it will be our way of life as the Word says.
“We have come into an intimate experience with GOD’s love, and we trust in the love he has for us. GOD is love! Those who are living in love are living in GOD, and GOD lives through them.” – 1 John 4:16 TPT. You and I are one with Love, we are the image and likeness of Love. This is the same Love that didn’t need either of us to be perfect first before He could reside in us and be one with us, this Love made an intentional decision that He will perfect us in Himself. All we had to do was to believe and trust in Him and have faith in the fact that we are in Him and He is in us.
“Our love for others is our grateful response to the love GOD first demonstrated to us.” – 1 John 4:19 TPT. Growing up, my grandmother used to say, “Awukho umgqomo wokulahlela umuntu”, direct translation: “There’s no bin to throw a person in”. Now that I’m older, I get to understand, what she really meant was, no matter how bad a person may be to you, they’re still worthy of the same love and grace that you were once shown by someone else. What we need to understand is, just like gold, we’re still being refined and we’re never going to reach the point of being fully refined because we’re still in this flesh which is full of many imperfections and weaknesses. We’re not perfect but in Him, we were made perfect. That is why this walk is a walk of faith and not of the flesh, and we ought to walk it in the faith that pleases GOD, the faith that does the work, the active faith, the faith that works through and by love towards each other.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a, Love is a perfect embodiment of Who GOD is, the same GOD who has made His permanent home in you and I, and vice versa. So as a believer, it is my duty to Love you the way GOD does, from His POV. Because to walk in Love is to walk in GOD and to walk in GOD is to walk in Love.
“Until we get to a point whereby our walk with GOD becomes a lifestyle that is not just filled with words, we will then begin to sincerely walk in Love with one another, it will be our way of life as the Word says”
