Write The Vision, Make It Plain

Write The Vision, Make It Plain

“The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

When a message like this comes out, it challenges you to go down a path of self-introspection where you begin to look at where you are and ask yourself several personal questions. Knowing that you’re not where you should be and doing something about it, is one thing, but rising and setting with the sun is another. GOD is a progressive GOD, and to achieve anything we want, we have to think, operate, and work like Him.

It is often said that the richest place on earth is the graveyard. A place full of unrealized potential, unfinished inventions, unfulfilled dreams, goals, and visions. The Word says we should commit our work to the LORD, not our wishes/fantasies. What is it that you and I have submitted and trusted to GOD, for GOD to establish? Because the moment we submit our work to Him, He then becomes obligated to bring it to pass. This clearly means that GOD blesses action/doers because doers are the type of people who take GOD at His Word.

One thing about a vision is that it will open your eyes and cause you to see, but it will not force you to see. A vision is not self-centered, instead it requires a vessel to not only carry it but to run with it. So with every vision that lies within/given to us, it is there to serve and benefit others. We must be willing to die to it to die for it. And realize “it is not for us/about us” but for GOD’s Kingdom and purpose, that He may be glorified. In other words, our desire(s) to achieve great things should be for GOD’s glory.

“And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” – Habakkuk‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬. This instruction doesn’t say “continue fantasizing about the vision” / “keep the vision in your heart/mind”. The instruction says “write it” and “make it plain”. Meaning, it is not a vision as long as it is not written down, it will only remain a wish. Writing down the vision expands your eyesight, and causes you to see beyond your current state to a point where you become unshakable.

With every vision that lies within/given to us, it is there to serve and benefit others. We must be willing to die to it to die for it. And realize “it is not for us/about us” but for GOD’s Kingdom and purpose, that He may be glorified.
