Be Still. There Will be Signs.

“But You, O LORD, are enthroned forever [ruling eternally as sovereign]; And [the fame and glory of] Your name [endures] to all generations. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, For it is time to be gracious and show favor to her; Yes, the appointed time [the moment designated] has come.” – ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭102‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Every now and then when my seasons are really tough and I am going through a challenging period in my life, I look back at the times when GOD really surprised me and came through for me in the most supernatural way, and more often than not, the timing seemed highly unlikely. What does stand out, however, is how leading up to the breakthrough, there were several occurrences that I now understand were announcements and signs in the spirit. We know and understand that, “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. And no matter what you do and try, if the time has not yet come, that activity will feel heavy and almost impossible to accomplish. You yourself can even sense that you are forcing matters here. Nevertheless, this is no reason to stop sending prayers of faith up to the Father. They are the greatest investments one can make towards their future, and even though it looks like nothing is happening, a great change is taking place in the spirit.

“And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for GOD is with you.” ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭10‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. One of the first signs that’s always there when a breakthrough is near, is a lifting in the spirit that one cannot explain. This usually happens when things are so bad in the physical that there’s no logical explanation for why you would suddenly feel joyous. When you look around you and everything that can fall apart is falling apart, and anyone who can go crazy is losing it at you and it’s just bad news after bad news. But be that as it may, there is that small still voice within that whispers, “Rejoice. Worship and be merry.” And it is when you begin to do these things that the lifting intensifies and you usher in the change.

We must never forget that the reason everything falls apart around us, and the bad gets worse is because the enemy wants to instill fear in us so we profess wrong and speak words that nullify what GOD is doing. He knows that our minds and heart posture are critical in these times, and that is why it becomes imperative to not only remain as close to the Word of GOD as possible but to also stay away from noise. It becomes hard to hear the promptings of GOD when you are knee-deep in things that are a distraction in the spirit. For example, being mixed up in arguments, gossips, and chaos. Keeping anger and harboring resentment in the heart are also a great hindrance to what is to come. The season of breakthrough is extremely sensitive and we also must be wise and be found in the right place and in the right state.

The one thing that is sure is that, when your season has come, nothing can stop what GOD does for you. What was once difficult and impossible, becomes easy. Even people who had seemingly turned their backs on you are suddenly offering help and availing their resources to assist you. These are signs that indeed your time has come. So never assume that every period of your being in the wilderness, and every trial and tribulation is a confirmation of your demise. Always listen to and pay attention to what GOD is saying. His Word has come and it has confirmed that indeed, now is the time of celebrating and we would do best to prepare for that bountiful harvest that is about to take place.
