It’s In The Why…

“Command those who are rich in the things of this life not to be proud, but to place their hope, not in such an uncertain thing as riches, but in GOD, who generously gives us everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share with others. In this way they will store up for themselves a treasure which will be a solid foundation for the future. And then they will be able to win the life which is true life.” – 1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭GNT‬‬

One of the things you’ll often hear a successful, rich yet single person say, is how much they wish they had someone to share their success with. This is because there’s a joy and a satisfaction that comes from being able to enjoy GOD’s blessings with someone. The Bible tells us that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). The ultimate reason why GOD blesses us is indeed for us to be a blessing to others. Since we are made in His image and likeness, blessing others should bring us as much joy as it brings Him to bless us.

Currently, the world is in a state of lack in many places, and people, including Christians, are wondering why GOD is not blessing His people. This is a warped observation considering it is not and has never been GOD’s will for His people to languish in poverty and lack. This does not give Him a good report, nor does it glorify Him in any way. If anything, from Genesis to Revelations, GOD has blessed us with all Spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). And Jesus Christ Himself, Though he was rich, for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

So now that we know that we have been created for success, it should be easy for us to give and to be generous as a people because we are giving from a place of abundance. As long as our mental state is that of lack, we will never progress to where GOD wants us to be and thus ever living below our purpose. And may I dare say that this sounds like sinful living to me. If nations are awaiting our revealing and we are called to bring many into sonship, how can we possibly begin to do this if we ourselves are in lack? What will inspire anyone to follow our GOD or want to hear anything we have to say if we are worse off?

There is a lot to do and we are not doing anyone any favours by accepting things GOD never asked us to accept. It is important that we come into alignment with our purpose and the means that GOD has availed for us to walk in those callings. I do believe that one day, just like in the parable of the talents, we will have to account for all that GOD has given us and what we did with it. For even though we might not be where we want to be, it is important that we start where we are with what we have. And that might just be a change in perception and heart posture.

As long as our mental state is that of lack, we will never progress to where GOD wants us to be and thus ever living below our purpose.
