“Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. “Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. Love never fails [it never fades nor ends].” – 1 Corinthians 13:7-8a AMP
Growing in Love is to grow into the person and character/likeness of GOD because everything is in Him and everything is in His highest form of Love. There are different layers, different dimensions, and different degrees of the Love of GOD. The question is, what layer/dimension/degree are we currently at? And how high, further, and deeper are we willing to stretch ourselves into growing and operating in these different layers/dimensions/degrees of the Love of GOD?
Ours is to desire the richest experience of Love (GOD) and His presence in our lives. To experience a life completely filled and flooded with GOD Himself, because we are to not only grasp but to grow in all the dimensions of the Love of GOD, until we are filled with the fullness of GOD. For us to be led into His fullness, we’re required to begin in Love, begin from Love, and grow in Love. This requirement will not be fruitful in mere words, but only in deed. I’ve come to realize, that knowing GOD and His Word alone is not enough and it does not please GOD, what pleases Him is us experiencing Him and His Word. For He has given us the capacity to, and He desires to reveal and manifest Himself to us, to the fullest dimension in a real, personal, and practical way.
The way to Love (GOD) is through death to self, in other words, we grow in Love through death to self and for that to happen, we first need to be empty of ourselves. Dying to self is not something that will happen overnight, it is not a 2-minute noodle situation, it is a process, a journey that no one can walk or take, on our behalf not even our Spiritual Leaders/prayer warriors or partners. This process needs us to continually and continuously surrender and submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit (daily), so He may be able to effect the process of death to self. Surrender and submit everything that is opposed to us growing in the fullness of experiencing GOD, i.e. our feelings, emotions, desires, basically, the flesh. At the end of the day, GOD can only meet us at the level of our hunger and thirst for Him. The more we desire Him, the more of Himself He will reveal to us. If we’re not empty of ourselves, there is only so much that GOD can do.
One thing about the mind, is that it constantly wants to be fed information and it cannot afford to be idle. Because if it is idle, it becomes the devil’s playground. What are we feeding our minds with daily? Apostle John says, “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with GOD, and the Word was GOD Himself.” – John 1:1 AMP. Jesus is the Word and the things of the Spirit are found in Him, and in His Word. The more we reflect, fix our gaze, contemplate, and meditate on the things of the Spirit that are found in the Word (Jesus), the more we’re meditating on Him, the more we’re being continually renewed in the attitude (spirit) of our minds, the more we will be transformed into the new nature, His nature, and the more He will manifest Himself to us, in us and through us.
