And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:7.
Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life, Philippians 4:6-7 MSG. This peace of God is that Shalom that our Pastors are always trying to unpack for us. It is life as it should be, complete, joyful, peaceful, prosperous, healed and whole etc. But we have to learn to walk towards the Shalom life through prayer and trust. We have to get over wallowing and become astute Christian soldiers, at some point, always switched on, unflinching, unshakable, always ready for action.
I say these things from faith, this is what I believe, though I will admit that there are unprecedented circumstances that have come at my core and they managed to topple me over. I will tell you friends that I was on the verge of believing the lie. I was broken! But you know when the Bible says we have been born again by a salvation that is beyond the reach of change, then you know that whatever bomb satan throws at you, you are emerging out of there on some Chuck Norris tip because you/we have become unstoppable and unbeatable with Christ living in us. So call upon His Name in desperate times, call for the peace of God which is your portion and is in you, to take over.
Friends this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. 1 Peter 2:11 MSG. It gets crazy here, it gets crazy in the faith, but there is a real utopia in the realm of the Spirit. Tap into it by faith, by not allowing circumstances to derail you, by remaining constant and consistent in Christ no matter what. Our life in Christ is incredible, and the incredible is accessed by faith. Receive and experience the amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, deep, deep within yourselves.
