Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom – Colossians 3:16a
Be careful what you ask for they say, because you might receive it. It’s not such a bad thing is it?, when you are asking for all the right things. Let us reflect on the book of James, chapter 4 verse 3 says: ‘ You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.’ So, as children of God we know that everything we do should be in line with the will of the Father, and the will of the Father for us is His Word. Only His Word and the Holy Spirit working in us will lead us to answered prayer and lives of balance and peace.
When we abide in His Word and His Word in us, the Spirit of truth who guides us into all truth will guide our thoughts, our desires and our petitions. He will steer us clear of disappointment and anxiety by keeping us in step with the will of God for us.
The Bible says, let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Don’t just touch and go otherwise there won’t be a reference point within you upon which to make important decisions and choices. Let the Word count for every breath you take, let it make up your entire mental state, a Biblical state of mind and being.
