For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life – John 3:16.
Love gives, and has been giving from the beginning of the age. It is natural for love to give. True children of God abound in giving.
While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. Matthew 26:6-7, giving is an act of worship and obedience.
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. James 1:27, true children of God abound in charitable deeds to the glory of God the Father.
Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 2 Corinthians 9:10. Our Father gives us what we need to give, He gives us so we can give and abound in giving.
