But Jesus, for His part, did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all people [and understood the superficiality and fickleness of human nature], and He did not need anyone to testify concerning man [and human nature], for He Himself knew what was in man [in their hearts—in the very core of their being] – John 2:24-25
The flesh profits nothing! This is why Jesus came to redeem us, there is no solution to the problems of humanity but transfiguration. It is the complete renewal of the mind, the subduing of the flesh and walking in the Spirit that births a truly supernatural Christian life. Everything else in between is a distraction.
Jesus’ assignment was divine, it flew over everyone’s head, it had to otherwise they would not have crucified Him. He was and is and is the solution to everything. We are given step by step guidance on how to deal with each other and the issues of life because we are hard nuts to crack and carnal. Otherwise we would take God at His Word and not perpetually question issues for instance of wives submitting to husbands, divorce, giving etc. Is it so hard? Is it so hard to submit one to another for God’s sake? Is it so hard to crucify the flesh and stop drinking, stop fornication, stop gossip? It is hard when we are always mindful of the things of man.
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Could this passage of scripture possibly denote anything of man? Not a chance, only God is good, and the things of the Kingdom of heaven ,which is upon us, are perfect.
Jesus was and is love divinely personified. He came because of love, He was ,during His time on earth, in touch/acquinted with our struggles, but He wasn’t brought down to the level of these struggles otherwise how could He overcome them? He had nothing to discuss or counsel with regard to the fallen nature but just to redeem it. Why are we still so bamboozled with the things of this world when everything we need for “life” and godliness is inside of us?
