On The Other Side Of Pain

On The Other Side Of Pain

After Job had interceded for his friends, GOD restored his fortune—and then doubled it! All his brothers and sisters and friends came to his house and celebrated. They told him how sorry they were, and consoled him for all the trouble GOD had brought him. Each of them brought generous housewarming gifts – Job 42:10-11 MSG.

I’m sure we are all familiar with the story of Job and how much pain and loss he went through, not only material loss but also the loss of his children and family; and friends turned against him. In this scripture we are told how after he had gone through all the hardship and loss, he prayed for his friends and family, and God restored and then doubled everything he had lost.

There comes a time in a believer’s life when your friends and even your family will turn against you and you will feel as if you are alone, do not hate or curse them, instead pray for them, God has allowed it. God allows us to go through tough times and seasons in our lives, He does this for our own benefit, the benefit of growth and increase. This is also the time when we become intimate with God and get to know Him as our Comforter, Friend, Brother and Father.

After this time of testing there will come a time when they will all come back, celebrate with you, console you and even bring you generous gifts, and at that time you are a better person than the one they had left. Embrace them, love them and soon they will see the God in you which will then be a light to them. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us,” Romans 8:18 NKJV.
